Ever since Stefan can remember he has had a passion for food and eating. His interest in silverware currently lies with spoons. Stefan has made a range of spoons, each with a specific purpose such as for eating fruit or ice cream. He found curvaceous forms that fit the contours of the hand, and perhaps challenge the conventions of how we hold them, an interesting investigation.
Before Stefan started making spoons, his introduction into metalwork was making chain mail garments and objects; this has perhaps led his work in a direction of tactility and utility. The aim of his work is to strike a balance between function and aesthetic.
The work shown here is made and designed by Stefan Tooke, he will also work to commisson, and is not only limited to spoons and chain mail. For more information please email enquiries@stefantookesilverware.co.uk.
